For Me?

Today the UPS guy actually stopped at my house. Usually he stops at my neighbor's house. She's a QVC power shopper. The FedEx frequents our address too since Mark started his new gig at IMS. But, today was my day! I was so excited to have a package addressed to me! My bud Heather had a giveaway on her blog and I won this Halloween treat. I love it! Tomorrow I will be smellling just like a piece of pumpkin pie, one of my favorite desserts, thanks to the yummy body wash, bubble bath, shampoo combo. Brilliant idea by the way, I thought they only made a three-in-one in kid's flavors.
Thanks Heather!
Be watching for my pay it forward tag coming soon....

Love That Donut Game

This classic game never fails to impress the 6 and under crew. David fully participated. By the way, even though it is very subtle, that is David's Halloween costume. He is "dressed up like a first grader." (Only kindergartners are allowed to dress up in costumes for Halloween at our school, but David was going undercover today.) Just in case you're wondering, that is David's little buddy, Mac with him in this picture.

My, How Time Flies....

Six years ago today, David blasted into our lives. It's been a fun, wild ride ever since. David is definitely our most intense, passionate child. Everything he does he does with gusto.

He's quite a superhero. He didn't seem to stay a baby for very long. As soon as he could hold his head up on his own, he was watching James and plotting his strategies for dominance.

He always finds a way out of tight spots. He's charming and, dare I say, a bit manipulative. He'll always find a way to convince you that what he is doing is totally a good idea.

David is my cuddle bug. He loves to snuggle up to his sister, when she allows it. He loves to hug and kiss, sometimes with reckless abandon... (watch out babysitters and visiting aunts)

The twinkle in his eye warms my heart.

A Little Mud Never Hurt Anyone

Saturday was the Camp Pendleton Mud Run. This was my second time doing the run on Team Hotpants. We had a blast! Of course, my favorite part is seeing my family there to cheer me on. They get so excited about watching Mom get dirty.

Our team is gaining notoriety, we got several shoutouts! I am pretty sure next time we will be running under a different name, seeing as we apparently are not the "hottest" pants there..

See the firetruck in the background? Those guys were quite proud of themselves for soaking us all down.

This is the last picture I have. For some reason, I have no dirty pictures! (sorry, that sounds bad) Trust me, I'm still digging dirt out from under the fingernails!

Confessions of a Guilty Mother

I survived another work week(barely) with minimal scarring. This work week(for me that's Monday and Tuesday) left me totally drained professionally and personally. What is it with this working Mom thing? It is not easy! My guilt for disappointing my children with my late arrival home was bordering on overwhelming last night so I "rewarded" the children with a trip to Blockbuster to rent "Jumanji"-(the movie whose arrival James has been anxiously awaiting from Netflix, due to arrive on Monday, except for a minor unforeseen glitch with no mail delivery on Monday due to Columbus Day, which in turn warranted said trip to Blockbuster). You get my drift??Then I fixed a gourmet, nutrient rich meal of chicken dinosaurs and apple slices and set up the Mendenhall family theatre in the bottom bunk. Can you say Mother of the Year?! Well, at least my fans were impressed.

Then, time for Mom to snuggle into bed with a nice big fro yo, diet cherry cola and a magazine. I hope I remember these days when I'm an old lady.... I have a feeling they won't let me forget!

P.S. Jumanji arrived in the mail today from Netflix so now I've got an extra copy until Saturday if anyone's dying to see it... (heeheehee)

Can't stop the incredible duo of Batgirl and Clone Trooper.

This little mouse keeps appearing around our house. For more shots of this little cutie and her family go check us out at Dana Fallentine's Photography site (on my sidebar) and scroll down to Laura's family. Enjoy!

Part Martha, Part Shamu

I'm on a frosting kick this week. I borrowed my Mom's "vintage" frosting tip kit and started on my quest to become "The Cupcake Lady". I know there are lots of cupcake enthusiasts out there, but I am campaigning to be the cupcake queen of my zip code, ok maybe just my neighborhood. So, I made these cupcakes from scratch, I've been a box cake addict up to this point. Then I started practicing with Mom's Wilton tips and some pink butter cream frosting. It turned out pretty good for my first time. It will definitely require practice.

Liz and I took some instruction from Gigi on cookie frosting. We did some Halloween cookies that tunred out very cute.

On Thursday, I decided to take Abby to Sea World without the distraction of older siblings. Lauren and Michelle joined us and we had quite a blast.

All Abby really wanted was to see Shamu. Here she is doing the Shamu clap. It was so fun to spend time with her and be able to enjoy her one on one. We both crashed and power napped when we got home.

That's my David...

He finagled his way into a modeling shoot at the Gap. These are the resulting photos. He's quite the ham!
