We're officially two weeks into summer now. We tried going cold turkey on tv this week. I'm not sure why I thought that might be a good idea. I guess it was truly an act of desperation. The kids are so addicted to the tv, they go from one room of the house to the next looking for tv or computer screens to stare at. So, I'd had enough and I removed all temptation. They did find ways to get some fixes, at friend's houses and the soccer park-there's only so much I can do! They all made a big press for tv today, but I was able to tell them we shouldn't watch anything today until we got to the movie theater to see Toy Story 3. You know, that way our minds would be all purified and ready to receive all the TS3 awesomeness. It worked and TS3 did not disappoint.
In other big news of the week, our neighbors skyrocketed to movie star status in our kids minds when they purchased a recreational vehicle, aka the "Mini-Winnie". Abby was the most excited of them all. She offered to help pack the rv for their inaugural trip to Mission Bay.
We spent a couple of evenings at the neighbor's house, just hanging out and letting Abby work her magic. She's pretty much wiggled her way into their hearts and she's very close to securing us a little trip in the Winnebago.
I mean, who could resist this little pumpkin! I'm a little worried that Mark might even cave to her suggestion to sell his car so that we can get her her own Mini-Winnie. She promised to bake him cookies on her stove. What can I say, this girl knows what she wants!

Mud Run 2010
The Wonder Women are back. This year we had 15 of us! The headbands are the best accessory ever. Stylish and functional...
The cutest spectators ever!!
Wonder mini-Woman
"Um, I'm not sure who this lady is...."
These guys couldn't resist getting in on the action.
This is how the kids entertain themselves while the we're off trudging through mud and leaping over walls.
My heroes: Team Headband!
I'm not sure why I look so happy. Maybe because of my enthusiastic family cheering me on. (Probably because the finish line is in sight..)
"I love you, but I won't touch you."
We made it! What a blast! It's my favorite run of the year. The only thing that might have made it a little better would have been having my canine running buddy along. I could have used his motivation at some points. I can't wait to do it again next year!
