Our little muffin turned Five on Sunday. She's such a little light in our family.
These are five of the (many) nicknames she answers to:
1. Abbers
2. Abs
3. Abby Dabby(or another variation of this, Abby Dabby Ding Dong)
4. Sis
5. Baby Girl
She loved having a celebration with family. One of her favorite parts was looking at pictures from the day she was born. Five things about really loves to do:
1. Play Barbies or dolls
2. Watch movies (in Mom and Dad's bed or the car)
3. Have friends come over to play
4. Ride on Daddy's shoulders
5. Play pretend (she's nailed the mannerisms and sayings of many of my closest friends and her teachers)She loves her brothers and definitely does not let them get away with much. Five things I love about Abby:
1. She's a girly girl. She loves clothes and purses and trying on Mom's shoes. She's got a definite idea how how she wants to dress. And she loves shopping...
2. She's also tough. She picks and chooses when to shed a tear, she resorts to crying only if she's trying really hard to get something she wants.
3. Her freckles are irresistible.
4. She still loves taking an afternoon nap with Mom.
5. She has a fantastic, contagious laugh.
Happy Birthday little girl!! We love you!!

Friends
Sometimes it's way too easy to take for granted all the good in our lives. I've been thinking alot lately about how grateful I am that my children have good friends. I know from experience what a difference a friend can make. David and Dallin are friends. What makes it even better is, they live right across the street from each other. Which means, we get a lot of quality time together. Last week we got invited over to a jam session.
(I heart the Waldvogels.)
p.s. Gary rocks.
I'm not sure who was more excited about the game last Saturday, David because Dallin was coming or Dallin becuase he got to watch David play.
The preparations have begun. The countdown is winding down, tomorrow is the last day of Abby being 4 years old. Pink cupcakes are just the beginning. Stay tuned....

Waiting for the Destroyer
David's first Poway Charger's football game was this morning. There was football in the air! I love getting ready for the game day. It's so fun to watch these boys all suited up and pumped to play ball. At practice, David has earned the nickname of "The Destroyer". The nickname may have been a little too much pressure to live up to. He just never really got into the game. We're going to chalk it up to first game jitters and hope that the Destroyer shows up next week. Nevertheless, the Chargers prevailed 27-13 (although we don't keep score, yeah right.)
David picked number 15 this season. He was #1 last year and James was #51. He's never said it, but I can't help but think he's giving a nod to his big brother by reversing his old number.
This is by far my favorite part, when the coach pumps the players up. Coach loves this part too, you can tell. Our team has pride and they scream it at the top of their 7 year old lungs.
On a sideline note, the coach gave the fans a grade of C- this game. He says we need more than 30 people on the sidelines. Well, fine! So, if you're in the area, you've got to save the date and come to our October 2nd game at 9am in Rancho Bernardo, where we will beat the Broncos something ugly. You won't want to miss it!!!
We got to cool off after the game at an awesome pool in Poway. The kids loved jumping off these rocks. The view from this house is amazing, see Pomerado Road traveling north in the background?? So cool!
(If your brother told you to jump off a huge rock, would you?? Yes...)

Three Otters
We now have three kids at our school! James started 5th grade today, David 2nd and Abby PEPP(pre-K). Everyone was excited and ready to go this morning!
Today was officially the hottet day of summer, of course!
We parked at the first available spot, probably 3/4 of a mile away from school. It's all downhill from here!
David took off down the hill and we never saw him again. He's so sure of himself and he knew where to go and what to do. James and Abby stayed behind for a picture.
Abby loves the dollhouse in her class. I'm sure that is where she will spend most of her free time. There are seven girls in her class of 20, a really good ratio considering it is PEPP and alot of girls don't usually do PEPP at our school.
Abby's teacher is Mrs.Ruelas, who she thinks looks a whole lot like Cinderella. Who could ask for more than that?
Clearly David was in a rush to get to class so that he could set out all of his supplies for his teacher. I think he picked a nice spot to sit in. Not too close to the teacher, but just close enough.
He is a picture perfect student!
It feels like the end of an era for us in many ways. Now all our kids are in elementary school, I guess that means we are all growing up! It is a bittersweet time. I am loving watching their personalities grow and blossom. They are growing into independent, fun little people.
